Synopsis:
At the heart of the production is Chekhov’s story of Olga Plemyannikova, nicknamed “Doushechka” (“Little Darling”) for her gentle nature. Her entire life is governed by a single feeling: love. Deeply sentimental and passionate, she would lose herself completely in the lives of the men she loved, leaving nothing for herself.
Olga’s tragedy lies in this: beyond being a “darling,” she has nothing of her own. Her only calling is to follow her husband in all things, to live by the interests of the person at her side, the one who gives her thoughts, ideas, and direction in life.
The vibrant, pulsating theatrical language of the production offers an unusual perspective on her story, turning it into a kind of parable about the Soul, love, and destiny.
