Synopsis:
A mechanical doll and an illusion, a body off-axis, suspended and defenceless, like a puppet searching to recognize itself while yearning for freedom.
“Coppélia: Un Ballet Mécanique” revisits the theme of identity, of the masks that each of us wears, and of the woman seen through both her fragility and her strength, revealed in the many roles she embodies. Inspired by the ballet “Coppélia: The Girl with the Enamel Eyes”, this creation fuses classical and contemporary dance with contortion, suspension, and the interplay of object, sound, and image… all to emphasize the body and its poetic fragmentation.
