Synopsis:
This production is part of the contemporary international theatrical works currently being staged in Iran. Inspired by William Shakespeare’s “King Lear”, it portrays the complex and turbulent relationship between the king and his daughters. Lear chooses to divide his kingdom among them according to the love they claim to feel for him. The youngest speaks with sincerity, while the other two resort to flattery, triggering jealousy, rivalry, and an intense struggle for power. In the end, Lear descends into madness, realizing, far too late, the irreversible consequences of his decisions.
