Synopsis:
‘Accamóra or All About My Mother’ presents the bittersweet, surreal dynamics of a Sicilian family, led by a strong-willed widow who clings to memories of a vanished past. At its heart is the Mediterranean Mother archetype, embodying nature, culture, and resilience. Her children: Francesco, a conflicted artist, and Aurora, hiding a personal secret, return home, sparking a ritual of intense exchanges, silences, and revelations. Set against the backdrop of a Sicilian town caught between tradition and modernity, the play captures a fragile, touching, and comical dance between love, guilt, and identity as each character wrestles with family ties and personal truths.
