Synopsis:
Under an authoritarian and totalitarian regime in “Sharquistan,” life wasn’t any better in this newly created state separated from “Gharbistan.”
Reluctantly, the former border inspector accepts a mission called “Hodhod”, ordered by a high-ranking state official, to spy on a famous playwright solely because he desires the playwright’s wife.
The inspector shifts from being a spy to becoming a guardian angel for this playwright, an advocate of freedom who rejects dictatorship. Influenced by his thoughts and writings, loyal to his principles and convictions, the inspector decides to protect and save the playwright.
Tormented, he constantly questions the objectives, usefulness, and feasibility of this mission, reflecting on his life and destiny… A true maze from which he attempts to escape, seeking answers to numerous philosophical existential questions demanding observation and reflection…
