Synopsis :
‘The Black Rebellion’ delves into history to predict the bitterness of the present, highlighting
identity crises, sectarianism, and wars through the centuries. Based on historical events, the
play follows a playwright developing his script. At the director's request, it must reflect
contemporary issues while staying true to the spirit of the Zanj Rebellion.
On stage, the writer manipulates history, fabricating some events and erasing others,
spurred by the moody director, who seeks to artistically balance past and present,
permanence and change…
