Synopsis:
In a city much like ours, a statue of “Captain Nout,” celebrated as a hero of the war of liberation, is erected based on a fabricated version of history. Over the years, this collective memory has been exploited by opportunists. A sculptor is commissioned to create the statue according to the official narrative, while historian Mehdi uncovers historical documents revealing the falsification of the story. As the conflict with a corrupt system intensifies, it is revealed that “Captain Nout” was in fact Mouja, a misguided man from the neighborhood, threatening to shatter the myth of the hero and open new perspectives. This revelation raises a series of questions: Who writes the memory of nations? And who has the right to tell History?
