Synopsis:
Based on Nikolai Karamzin's classic story, ‘Poor Liza’
follows the touching romance between a young peasant
woman, Liza, and a nobleman, Erast. Their love, tender and
innocent, faces inevitable challenges as the realities of their
social differences come into play. Set in the spirit of
Karamzin's era, this musical adaptation by director Mark
Rozovsky uses poetic and musical elements to breathe new
life into this tale of first love, betrayal, and morality. The
production reflects on timeless questions: Can love transcend
societal boundaries, and are we prepared for the trials fate has
in store?
